About James Smythe:
My paintings have been accepted in over 100 competitive and invitational art shows and have won more than 25 awards.
Like many landscape painters I like to paint atmosphere, light and weather such as windswept sand dunes, dramatic sunsets or the smoky mountains. I am also quite interested in placing people and man-made structures in my compositions, often with an eye on conservation.
