State grant funding finally makes regular health care a reality for uninsured

A community care clinic has opened in Franklin after years of unmet need, said Jerry Hermanson, clinic director of the Highlands-Cashiers Community Care Clinic. Hermanson is just one of the local band of health care professionals that are taking time to treat and advise patients that wouldn’t normally get to see a doctor. At least for now, thanks to state funds and some homegrown initiative, many people that can’t afford the high costs of health care will have that opportunity. Read more…
